Kedar Kantha Trek

One of the not oft visited locales, close to the Har ki dun valley, is Kedar Kantha. Kedar Kantha lies in the state of Uttarakhand, bordering Himachal Pradesh. The outdoor vistas are beyond description in beauty. There are quaint hamlets, unending and lush green meadows and fabulous views of some of Himalayan giants. The people are extremely friendly and the culture and practice of the locals very unique.

The snaking trail on this trip takes one through rich and verdant forests of chestnut, maple and pines. The sun kissed snow path with the trees shadow boxing with each other is a sight to behold. The trail that is tough in places also offers potential of catching fleeting glimpses of the elusive Himalayan wildlife. The Pinnacle of this trip though remains the perfect sunset that one can almost reach out to. The sun, almost in slow motion leaves a blazing trail through the sky before descending into oblivion behind the impressive snow capped peaks.

Kedar Kantha Trek Itinerary :

DAY 01: DELHI - MUSSOORIE:
Morning take an AC train for Dehradun at 06:55 hrs. Arrival at Dehradun by 12:20 hrs & immediately transfer to Mussoorie by surface. On arrival at Mussoorie check in at hotel. In the evening one can visit the colorful market and Mall road of Mussoorie. Overnight stay at hotel in Mussoorie.

DAY 02: MUSSOORIE - SANKRI (Drive 170 kms):
Morning after breakfast drive to Sankri, the road head of our trek. It will take near about 6-7 hrs to reach Sankri. Enroute we will cross Kempty Fall, Nainbag, PurolaBook Your Tour and Mori. On arrival set out camp for overnight stay.

DAY 03: SANKRIi - JUDA KA TALAB (Trek 4 kms):
After breakfast we will start our trek up to Juda ka Talab. It's situated near a small pond on the way to Kedar Kantha. One can see the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas. On arrival set out camp for overnight stay.

DAY 04: JUDA KA TALAB - KEDAR KANTHA (Trek 7 kms):
An early morning one can see the sun shine on snow clapped peaks. After breakfast start your trek to Kedar Kantha. The trek is full of mountain flowers, lush green meadows, water falls and many more. Dinner and overnight in tents.

DAY 05: KEDAR KANTHA:
The day is for exploration. One can trek up to Kedar Kantha peak. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

DAY 06: KEDAR KANTHA - SANKRI (Trek 11 kms) - DEHRADUN - DELHI:
In the morning after breakfast trek back to Sankri. From here drive to Dehradun. On arrival at Dehradun board the Mussoorie Express at 2115 hrs for Delhi.
